OCAN 2.0
TREAT has added OCAN 2.0 to its catalogue of assessment tools. Based on the Camberwell Common Assessment of Need (CAN-C), this tool is a standardized, consumer-led, decision-making tool that assists with mental health recovery. Based on TREAT's flexible and proven platform, we offer an easy-to-use solution with a direct data submission interface, making it easy as 1-2-3 to collect, report, and submit your OCAN data.
TREAT aggregates data stored firsthand and also by your other systems, and then presents it all in a single clinical executive summary page. You'll no longer have to search across multiple sources to find what you need. With the TREAT's Patient Profile, you'll have real-time access to all pertinent information at-a-glance.
TREAT provides customers access to over 120 different clinical assessment, screening, and management tools, with value-added functions such as automated scoring, graphing, reporting, and integrated clinical documentation. And if you're looking for a unique tool that we don't have, we can easily translate it into electronic form for you!

Metabolic Health Monitor

TREAT’s Metabolic Health Monitor is a simple and effective monitoring tool to aid clinicians in recognizing and treating metabolic abnormalities in patients with serious mental illness. Patients on antipsychotic medication have an increased risk of weight gain, diabetes and heart disease due to the metabolic side-effects of their treatment. The Metabolic Health Monitor tracks and monitors key metabolic risk markers in these patients, including:

    • Personal history
    • Weight gain
    • BMI
    • Blood pressure
    • Laboratory results (glucose, lipid values, etc.)

When a Metabolic assessment is completed, the data is scored and risk factors are identified and are automatically entered into the patient’s care plan. This allows clinicians to immediately address the risk factors using built-in best practices without having to manually score and transcribe issues from the assessment. The direct results of the Metabolic Health Monitor are improved patient care and health promotion.

The electronic Metabolic Health Monitor in TREAT was developed based on the research and clinical work of Dr. Tony Cohn (MBchB, MSc, FRCPC). Dr. Cohn is the director and lead psychiatrist at the Mental Health and Metabolism Clinic at CAMH in Toronto. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Cohn realized that accurate tracking of risk factors and metabolic indices during the course of treatment with antipsychotics was necessary for providing safe and informed pharmacological treatment, as well as for promoting and tracking the effectiveness of interventions in this population.

In July 2010, HInext and Dr. Tony Cohn were awarded the ITAC Community IT Hero award for the development of the Metabolic Health Monitoring Tool.
